Inauguration of the Valodéa sorting center in Charleville-Mézières
On Tuesday, January 20, the new Valodéa sorting center in Charleville-Mézières was inaugurated. This site replaces the facility destroyed in the 2022 fire. Thanks to this reconstruction, the Ardennes region now has a modern and efficient tool, serving the ecological transition and the circular economy.
Vauché’s expertise mobilized for reconstruction
Vauché designed and built the entire sorting center. Their teams supported the project at every stage. They first carried out the engineering studies. Then, they supervised the manufacturing and installation of the equipment. Finally, they managed the commissioning of the site.
This mobilization made it possible to meet the deadlines while ensuring a high level of safety. Furthermore, the installation was designed to optimize sorting performance and facilitate the site’s daily operations.
Thus, the Ardennes region regains an essential infrastructure for waste management. The project also demonstrates the ability of industry and local authorities to work together to quickly rebuild a strategic facility.

Modern and high-performance equipment
The sorting center is primarily dedicated to selective collection. It can process between 7.5 and 9 tons of waste per hour. Over a full year, this represents approximately 22,000 tons of recyclable waste.
The facilities incorporate recent technologies. They improve the quality of sorting while strengthening the working conditions of the operating teams.
Nearly 140 pieces of equipment installed
4 months of on-site assembly
Up to 40 employees mobilized each week
This project therefore illustrates the industrial dynamism of the region. It also demonstrates the importance of investing in infrastructure adapted to current environmental challenges.
👏 Congratulations to all the teams and partners who contributed to the success of this structuring project.
