Gesam sorting center: opening in Sardinia
2017 is off to a great start for Vauché. Our network in Italy continues to grow.
While awaiting the commissioning of the new CARIS sorting center near Milan, our teams have launched another important installation. We have just started up the GESAM sorting center, located in Sassari, Sardinia.
This facility processes up to 25,000 tonnes of waste per year. It receives bottles and cans collected through selective collection by the Sardinian population.
The equipment includes, in particular:
a screening trommel,
several optical and air separationrs,
more than a dozen storage compartments,
overbands and non-ferrous metal separators.
These technologies make it possible to optimize waste recovery and improve the quality of sorted materials.
Thanks to the mobilization of our teams, this installation was completed quickly. Today, it offers performance exceeding our client’s expectations.
This project showcases Vauché’s expertise in the design and commissioning of modern sorting facilities. To better understand the challenges of recycling and waste sorting, you can also consult the information provided by ADEME on waste management and recovery.
