The sorting unit achieved for the SYCTOM of the metropolis of Paris XV could treat until 18 000 tons/year of waste issued from the selective collection. The commissioning has been led in success in January 2011, the 11th.
With an hourly capacity of 6 tons and a running on 5 days a week in two posts, this unit employs 17 sorters. It will receive the selective collections (packagings, Magazines, Newspapers) of a part of the 5th, 6th, 7th-14th and 15th boroughs of Paris.
The main asset of this unit is the GPAO (Computer aided management). This management tool allows to know in real time the performances, with the treated capacity by type of products thanks to a 3D supervision software Ar. Val. PROD®, a friendly software for industrial control. More than being a tool of measure and control, the GPAO optimizes the process of the sorting unit, by increasing the availability of the equipments and therefore the profitability of the sorting unit.
In an ongoing effort for the welfare of the staff, a special care has been taken in the laying out of the sorting cabins:
- Ergonomic work stations ;
- Natural lightling ;
- Air treatment ;
- Soundproofing.
