The new sorting office realized for VEOLIA and implanted in Couëron ( 44 ) will treat not less than 28 000 tons per year of waste of selective collections. Put in service on 16/01/09, it already processes 8,5 tons / hour of waste in 2 x 8. Innovative, the unit allies at the same time pushed mechanical sorting and complex automatic management, as a real production line.

Quickly, the process of sorting includes the mechanical opening of bags, the sorting in 4 fractions (trommel), the ballistic sorting of the flat bodies - hollow body (ballistic separator), the automatic separation of papers (optical separator), the magnetic separation of steels (overband), separation of non-ferrous, 5 successive separations of the big families of plastics (5 optical separators), the inhalation centralized by the plastic bags, the packaging of the ferrous, the packaging of the other sorted out products and a new generation of side extensions finalized with the CRAM, in every post of sorting.

The essential asset allowing to optimize the productivity: the automatic and complete piloting of the unit which makes the measure of the production, the real-time adjustment of the speed of conveyors, the order of the sequential sorting of plastics and automatic management of balling.
